A Doctor, Pharmacist, and Nurse Practitioner who have worked together in functional medicine for over 15 years. Our goal is to provide a personalized relationship to get our patients feeling their best with long-lasting results.

Dr Porter

Dr. Stuart Porter, Founder

Dr. Stuart B. Porter, D.O., is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1984 after serving an L.D.S. mission to Argentina. He continued his education and graduated first in his class from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1988. He completed his internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, and his residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.

In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Porter loves teaching and currently serves as the Regional Dean for the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine overseeing the professional development of approximately twenty 3rd and 4th-year medical students. In Dr. Porter’s spare time, he leads an active outdoor lifestyle. Between training for his next Tri-Athlon or Iron Man competition, he can be found back-country skiing, bicycling, and spending time with his wife and 5 children.

Cory Fowler

Cory Fowler, FNP, Founder

Cory Fowler is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as well as Utah Nurse Practitioners. He completed his undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of Utah. He then graduated on the Dean’s List from Westminster College with a Master of Science in nursing, a family nurse practitioner concentration.

Cory is BLS and ACLS certified and has critical care experience as well as experience working on acute and chronic illness in a home health setting. He enjoys caring for individuals, and their family members, across the entire life span. He believes in using an Integrative approach to delivering holistic patient-centered care with an emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion. Helping patients with mood disorders using IV ketamine has become another passion that has shown tremendous promise.

Cory and his wife have 4 children. They enjoy spending time together outdoors, especially camping, swimming, and riding ATVs. He enjoys serving the families of Salt Lake and Utah counties

Chris Cox

 Chris Cox, Pharm D, Founder

Chris is a compounding pharmacist who specializes in creating customized medication formulations for patients. This can include combining multiple medications into a single dose, altering the strength of a medication, or changing the form of a medication to make it easier for a patient to take. He has nearly 20 years of experience in hormone replacement, pain management, autoimmune, and integrative medicine. 

As a compounding pharmacist, he works closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure that the medications they prepare are safe, consistent, and effective for the patient. Chris has a Pharm.D and other advanced trainings in compounding. 

There is no better satisfaction than helping a patient find solutions to healthcare challenges that have been unsolved for far too long.

Shauna

Shauna graduated from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She also has a second Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership also from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Arizona State University. Shauna Previously worked in an internal Medicine practice specializing in chronically ill/ homebound and elderly patients.

Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she had a broad background of experiences working in the areas of Neonatal Intensive Care, GYN Post-op Care, Newborn/Post-Partum Care, Internationally Board Certified Lactation consultant (IBCLC), Hospital Clinical Educator for doctors and nurses, Urgent Care, Community Health, and School Nurse.

She has always loved holistic health, optimal nutrition, and exercise for herself and her patients, and is currently studying Functional Medicine approaches to health and healing. Shauna respects the mind-body connection between health and illness and the power of patient insights in the healing journey.
